Subject: It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Time: 09:23 pm

I won’t pretend that’s because nothing has happened worth journaling about, because it has. There’s just been no time for it. Ace is… I’m not sure how Ace is. Moody, apparently. He’s not talking to many people and I don’t blame him. I’m not sure if we completely messed up but I guess had to be better ways of going around this. With any luck Lady Illusion and Random will be alright back there. Um… Kat. Kat is… Kat. By which I mean she’s writing. Again. I know, I know, don’t even start. Anyway, no, it’s not about “us guys” but its dangerous territory to be treading anyway. She’s doing some piece about the thunder tower and this “overnight-star watch” field trip our school is having there in a while… got to warn everyone to stay away from it that night. Okay, stuff it. Kilobyte is God knows where (and it’s never safe when HE’S quiet for too long). Lady Illusion and Random, both the people who are strong enough to stand a chance again Kilobyte alone, are stuck in the sixth dimension. Ace is here, but brooding. Sparx… I don’t know who’s side she’s on. Or who’s side Fear’s on (his own, probably) or what the hell Rick is playing at, but… And, then there was these holidays they kept taking and everything… I know it’s boring here but I can’t help thinking… It all just feels too convenient. It just… it feels like… well, like a bit of a set up. I don’t know who by (yeah. right) but… something is not right. And I know nobody wants to hear me say this, but… Well… I’ve got a bad feeling about all this. A really bad one. Dad said something to me today he said that “first impressions aren’t always right.” which is an odd thing for him to say, because he normally goes with first impressions. I mean its not like he ever READS instruction manuals for TV’s or grills or… whatever. But I guess he makes sense. Instincts all very well, but what if you don’t HAVE instinct? It’s not like Ace was born with them. Or Sparx. They managed okay. Thing is, if second impressions are more often right than first, then I think we might be in trouble.

Okay so maybe we don’t have that great a TIMING when it comes to pulling people out of alternate dimensions (how were we supposed to know what he was doing at the time?!)… and yeah, obviously he wasn’t too happy about the two people we’ve left stuck back there. In fact I don’t think anyone’s happy about it. can I just say: Guilt trip, people? Well I guess I’ll understand it if he doesn’t want to speak to any of us for a while. Meanwhile, we can work on getting Random and Lady Illusion out of there. By the way um… is anyone going to check on Random’s cat?

Okay, so… the whole get both of them out thing was an absolute disaster. We messed up. And now there’s blame flying all over the place... well, okay mostly in the direction of Lady Illusion. And now we’re supposed to pull some kind of switching subroutine. It’s some trick I remember being in a newer game version but I didn’t think we could use it on my copy. Apparently Rick’s worked away around that. That he can still make this work. (Am I the only one who’s worried about that?) So, we switch Ace with Random (Chuck’s working on that, Random doesn’t trust him), but Lady Illusion is going to be a problem… Btw while I’m here, does anyone know whether or not blue tinsel does well with green? The tree looks weird…

This was definitely… interesting last year. Here’s hoping the only thing Ashley’s going to see coming down the chimney is Father Christmas… well, my dad. And through the back door, in a suit. Yeah I know, I know. He’s doing it especially for her. She’s gotten to her “if Santa’s real how come he fits down the chimney, how come he does things that are logically beyond reason?” phase. Dad says if we can get her through it then she can keep her innocence for a couple of more years. That would be nice. Course, it would be even nicer if she didn’t keep jumping on my bed singing jingle bells on the morning (with the more modern superhero-themed lyrics).... And make me type up letters because she thinks he’s joined the modern era and will take email now. Why do kids get excited about this so EARLY? And she doesn't go home until boxing day... Frankly, that’s not the only thing I’m worried about coming down the chimney and getting stuck… :P (Oh okay, that was low. Sorry… everyone whose ever come down my chimney. You know what’s really worrying is that there’s actually a LIST for that.) Well… Ashley says Happy Christmas everyone… weeks in advance, but… it’s the thought that counts.

Exactly how much candy can those kids eat anyway? I swear you never got that much in England. On the upside – no insane CGI’s on the loose. I have no idea how (or why) they kept Googler out of the way but they must’ve done it somehow. Still no signs of Ace and Lady Illusion. I’m… not sure what to think about it all. Look, Ace I know this is awful, and I’m sorry about it. I suppose we should’ve known it was just a trap. But you know he’s trying to knock you down and you can’t let him do that. I guess this is just further proof. Kilobyte won’t stop at anything. (Thank goodness HE wasn’t on the loose at Halloween.) so much for the horrors ending after the 31st…

So, it’s been three days since they apparently left Mexico I bet the government will be relieved… and still no Sparx… Okay then, no Sparx OR Fear. And there was most definitely a taxi at the computer shack the other day. I doubt anyone would come long distance to visit that guy… except possibly that woman with the name of a drink or whatever, so it’s probably Rick back… how does a mortal on a plane and in a taxi beat a superhero on a vehicle that travels at light speed to Conestoga Hills from Mexico? Get in contact soon as you want to can, okay, Sparx? And Kat… um… sorry? Again? Look, if the NBA are ever in town I’ll take them to get a replacement.

Good news = we’ve got a track on Ace. All this bloody time and all we had to do was plug in a joystick! We might be able to find him soon. I hope And Chuck has been working on some upgrades – he actually designed them from scratch with help from Jessica and wants to give them to the guys as soon as they get back.. There was a bit of a fuss about him losing the chips containing the data in a bad of jellybeans (if you don’t already know please don’t ask). But it seems okay now. Bad news = Sparx is stuck in Mexico with Rick and Fear Not a good combination and we have no idea how to get them back.. Something is going down there. I dunno what it is but it’s not going to be good. Random’s had some kind of… of control chip tugged out of his head. I thought they’d gotten rid of that. Obviously not. Kat wants a newspaper article, and she keeps casting furtive glances in the direction of the carnival. I’m sure she WOULDN’T do it, but… well… And as for Lady illusion? Lets not even go there. She’s… okay god knows where Lady Illusion is but if she’s got common sense she’ll be as far away from Sparx as possible. Great. Wonderful. Someone just shoot me now.

...but I have an idea Chuck you’ve been trying and failing to locate Ace’s signal in… in whatever’s LEFT of the sixth dimension. No matter how many times you run scans or code searches you can’t locate him. We thought that if we just kept running the scans over and over we’d pick him up eventually. But I think we might’ve been wrong. We’ve been looking at this in the wrong way. We’ve been looking at it like a bunch of codes and programs, searching for patterns. But we’ve forgotten when you get down to it, those guys came out of a videogame, and that’s what the sixth dimension is. I mean, what’s that saying? It takes a thief to catch a thief? Well maybe it takes a videogame player to catch a videogame character… Excuse me, I have a game to play. Sort of.

Ace is trapped in the sixth dimension and we have no good ideas on how to get him out. Lady Illusion is on the run trying to avboid Fear and Sparx probably a good idea Random is actually backing up the master programmer about the tape - which really doesn't make any sense. Why did he post a huge LJ entry like that before he talked to Ace, anyway? The amster programmer is... well, being an ass, as usual. Chuck has lost some jellybeans, normally this wouldn't be such a bad thing, even for him, but he's standing over my shoulder and asked me to put that in. He would also like to leave a message, anyone who finds the bag, could they address him in his livejournal, he thinks he left some microchips (I think he means the electrical kind)in the packet. Right, list not nessecarily in that order. I'm going to the thunder tower...

The tape’s real. That means that Lady Illusion was involved in Ace’s being sent back to the sixth dimension. But it’s just not working in my head. It can’t be true, it just can’t be! Maybe Kilobyte’s capable of reprogramming. Or maybe there’s just been some awful mistake. Random’s not infallible, he could’ve made an error. Maybe it is fake after all… Or maybe I’ve been listening to the wrong people. And now I don’t know who to listen to at all. Sparx of I’m wrong about all this then… then I’m sorry, (you can’t possibly know how much.) Maybe she was in on this. Maybe she wasn’t. I don’t have any way of really knowing anymore. So I’m just going to… get on with things. I don’t know what to do. Ace, I really need your help.

Ace is alright. Thank god for that. Well maybe not alright, but he’s alive at least. In what's left of the Sixth Dimension. We think Kilobyte might just be there too… Normally we'd be happy about that, if he didn't happen to be there with Ace. Sparx is… mad at me. I guess she has a reason. Lady Illusion is staying away from... well everyone. I really wish I knew what was going on here lately. Me and Chuck went to the thunder tower earlier and it was so… weird. Nobody around at all. It’s so bizarre seeing that place completely empty. Things are changing so much lately it’s hard to keep up and everyone’s getting worn down. I mean, I think Chuck fell asleep at his computer last night. =S I think I need to sleep too.

Still no sign of Ace on Chuck’s scans, except for about five, untraceable seconds on one of them. That doesn’t say much, but at least it proves he’s still alive. Or WAS… then at least. As for Lady Illusion… I don’t know. Whatever’s happened I reckon I’m probably as much to blame as her. I mean if I hadn’t gotten that stupid glove broken… I mean, her working for Kilobyte? I don’t think that’s likely… Maybe I am a hypocrite, to believe what Ace would think over what Sparx would. And it’s not that I don’t trust Sparx or want to trust her. I’m always going to trust her. maybe not her JUDGEMENT but that’s something completely different but… I don’t know. I don’t know what to believe anymore. Damn, this is such a mess. Well, so maybe I’m the stupid one. If I hadn’t gotten it broken in the first place I wouldn’t have had to waste time going to the Junkyard, which means I would have gotten to the Thunder Tower, which means... Okay, I'm not sure what it means, but it means SOMETHING would have been different. Anything. Sparx wasn’t there, I guess she was at the junkyard with fear. And what the hell is WITH Lady Illusion? What did she think she was… Okay I don’t even WANT to think about what she thinks she was doing. And Chuck – why didn’t I just let him GO and help Ace instead of saying he waited for me? He could’ve handled it. Maybe I was worried that he couldn’t. I didn’t want to go… well, risking him again, not after the whole Staffhead or… or electric shock incident or whatever the hell it was that put him in that hospital Ace wherever you are, you’ve got to get a message top us, and fast, because people are worried. And I have a nasty feeling about where you are right now so… so just message someone, alright? Chuck is freaking out because he can’t find your signal anywhere. And if you’re where I think you are, go for the Haunted house, it’s the only bit we can assure you isn’t going to fall down around you. Then again you might not even BE there, you could’ve… could’ve gotten away from Kilobyte and be off somewhere… Yeah… there goes a flying Pigface. ] Great. Just great. What a bloody week. Sorry mate.

Okay. This is not a joke. Sparx, I understand that Chuck didn’t show up for boxing last night, well I have a reason for you: He was sort of tied up doing something elsewhere. To be exact, having scans run on him at Community General Hospital. Apparently his parents say he’s been poking around in the back of the computer towers with a screwdriver again and probably touched the red wire when he should’ve… oh never mind, the point is he spent last night in the hospital. But why is it that that ugly green toad on a stick keeps on popping into my head? I know I can’t prove it. I know it could just be Chuck playing around with wires he’s not supposed to. I’m going to talk to him as soon as he’s feeling up to it. And Staffhead? If I hear anything about a “flash of green light” or an annoying, sneaky English accent, then you’re going to be up to your neck in White Hot Oblivion. Clear?

I... Okay, stuff the long explanations. I messed up. I shouldn’t have gone there, and I paid for it. And Ace? Sorry about wrecking the Lightning Glove. I didn’t realise that “control of machines” went that far. It’ll probably be a good idea to avoid the junkyard for a few days… or weeks. And don’t start, Chuck, because I know it was stupid to go there in the first place, okay? And I still think he can beat it. Just not yet. And not because of anything I’ve done.
